WEEK 2 POST 1
In my opinion, Twitter is more for personal use than business. Twitter is more for personal use because tweets are usually what you think and how you feel about a certain subject. Most people on twitter are usually venting about something or just following trending topics. Twitter has less options for promoting your business.
Instagram is the best for business use because you don't have to actually follow the person for your post to reach them. If you share a video on instagram it can be reached by many with the simple use of hashtags or your post making it to the explore page. When posting videos on facebook as long as they view it counts as in interaction on your post and now they are more likely to see your post now on even if they choose not follow you which could possibly generate more business for you.
Instagram and Facebook seem to be the most fit for business, they both are linked together as far as boosting your post to reach a broader audience. You can have a business profile on both Facebook and instagram. Instagram and Facebook let you see the insights of her post, how many likes or how many people viewed the post and where they generated from. Instagram and Facebook also lets you know where most of your active audience is located and their age group. Knowing who your audience is and where they are is an important part of business.
Given the number of interesting e-mails that I get from journalists chasing the story I will read later, and useful e-mails I get from Metrolink and NCTD, I think Twitter is an excellent platform for business. It is great for getting out brief messages, with is all customers tend to want from a business or government agency (e.g, "Metrolink"). For example, NCTD usess Twitter to announce when late trains are due to arrive, or when the Padres Baseball special train will leave San Diego; Brief, high-value messages. Twitter also supports hashtags, which are great when a big event has just happened. But YMMV.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Twitter is used more for personal use. It's a good platform for current events too. When something major happens in the news users are tweeting their thoughts and opinions, and some people really love to get on their soapbox! I also agree Instagram is a good platform for business. I see people promoting their business and products on there all the time, and it's so easy to do too.
ReplyDeleteEven influencers make money just by having enough followers. If I were to start an online business I would definitely use Instagram.
I tend to forget about Twitter.😅 But from what I know of it, I agree with you to an extent. I think Twitter is great for personal use, but if that person is a famous person does that famous person then become a “business?” It was just a thought that ran through my head. Take actors for instance, they are their own product. So, they need to advertise and sell their talents. But they are just a person. So in that case would it be considered personal or business? Or did I just really blur the line?
ReplyDeleteYou got it. A famous person on Twitter IS a business. For example, I see stand-up comedians using Twitter to tell jokes; are they trying out new material? are they trying to show off how funny they are? All I know is that getting your followers laugh at your jokes on Twitter will help get them to go to your two-drink minimum shows on Friday night.
